The New Hampshire house has just passed a medical marijuana bill. Now it’s on to the Senate where passage looks promising. I’ve wanted to move to New Hampshire for a few years now, as part of the Free State Project. The passage of this bill could give me the push I needed to make the final decision. It will be hard for my wife and I to leave Memphis, but our prospects of raising a family in a voluntary society look a lot more promising in the Granite State.

CONCORD, NEW HAMPSHIRE — The New Hampshire House passed a bill today, 234-138, that would allow seriously ill patients to use medical marijuana if their doctor recommends it – a first for either chamber of the state’s legislature.

In other FSP news, Pete and Jason from Bureaucrash.com are moving to Keene, NH. They are chronicling their journey on Motorhomediaries.com. Recent movers to Keene also include SamIAm of The Obscured Truth Network. Sam worked with Barry Cooper of NeverGetBusted.com on his Kopbusters reverse sting of the Odessa, TX police department.

The American Alliance for Medical Cannabis is debating medical marijuana on the Opposing Views forum. This is one of the rare places that drug warriors actually show up to debate. AAMC claims that medical marijuana treats the symptoms of ADHD. Without divulging too much of my personal life I’ll have to agree whole heartedly by saying that I’ve experienced the benefits first-hand.

After giving Jeffrey marijuana, the results were immediate.

“Within a half hour,” Debbie says, “I looked over at Jeffrey, and he just had this smile about him, this glow, and he said, ‘Mommy, I feel happy.’ And that’s the first time that he’s ever said that.”

“Jeff has been diagnosed with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, which is ADHD; oppositional defiant disorder; conduct disorder; intermittent explosive disorder; bipolar disorder – any disorder you can think of,” says Debbie, a single mother.

American Alliance for Medical Cannabis on marijuana, cannabis: Marijuana Treats Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

It will be interesting to see how drug warriors can argue against these claims. Most ADHD symptoms are now treated with psycoactive drugs, antidepressants and stimulants as a first course of action. These drugs, Ritalin, Concerta, Straterra, Adderall, Wellbutrin, etc., have serious side effects and/or abuse potential. Ritalin and Adderall and their derivatives are scheduled narcotics.

Marijuana provides a non-toxic, effective alternative treatment for ADHD with a low potential for abuse (when compared with amphetamines.) There’s no logical reason why Ritalin is legally prescribed to children when people who provide medical marijuana to suffering children are treated like hardened criminals.

Ron White was interviewed by Rock 100.5 in Atlanta on his arrest for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Ron isn’t contrite about what happened. In the four part interview he discussed his medical marijuana use and the current priorities of law enforcement. He makes the point that in order to arrest him, Florida police had to ignore violent crime and use their manpower to investigate a pot smoker. I’m impressed with his candor and courage to speak out on the issue.

An anonymous tipster narced out The Tater and police sprang into action. This is freaking ridiculous and completely conflicts with Drug Czar John Walters assertion that people don’t go to jail for simple possession. Ron White had 3 grams of marijuana, that’s about 1/10th of an ounce or less than $100 worth of high quality, medical marijuana. He was arrested, booked and release with a $1000 bond. I guess the streets are safe now. Great police work. How many personnel hours do you think that law enforcement is wasting on the investigation, processing, prosecution, and incarceration of a non-violent medical marijuana user? Ron was flying to Florida for a sold-out show. Over 1000 people were inconvenienced when the show started an hour late.

By omitting relevant facts and disallowing testimony of witnesses, jurors are often tricked into believing individuals running legitimate businesses are running criminal enterprises. Now two jurors in California are fighting back.

The Modesto Bee – Second thoughts and a new pot trial?: “Buyer’s remorse from two of 12 jurors is not enough to toss out guilty verdicts that could send two men who ran a Modesto-based medical marijuana dispensary to prison for decades or even life.

So attorneys who want to win a new trial for Ricardo Ruiz Montes and Luke Scarmazzo are taking a different approach, arguing that jurors were unduly influenced by a San Francisco Chronicle story about pot clubs that was published during their deliberations.”
